FAQs-Common ?'s

We get lots of questions at Club Cabaret.  We've provided our most frequently asked questions on this page for you.  We want to make sure that your visit with us at Club Cabaret is the best possible.  Please don't hesitate to contact us if your question is not answered here.

Is CLUB CABARET exclusively a gay nightclub?
CLUB CABARET is what you want it to be!  While it is safe to say that a majority of our members and guests are gay, we have many "straight" members and guests that love the music, come to dance, enjoy the great drinks we serve and our awesome atmosphere.  We don't put labels on the people that come to CLUB CABARET and everybody is welcome here regardless of their orientation!

How old do I have to be to get into CLUB CABARET?
You must be 18 years of age or older.  You must provide us with proof of age in order to get into the club.  See the next question below about ID cards.

Do I need a driver's license or ID card to get into CLUB CABARET?
Yes.  We require you to provide us with a valid state or government issued ID card.  It must also have your photograph on it.  We will accept a driver's license, a state issued DMV identification card, a military identification card, or a passport.  It also has to be current, meaning it is up to date and hasn't expired.  If your ID card has expired, even though it is yours, we can't accept it.  That's North Carolina law.

Can I use my college ID card?  It has my picture on it.
Sorry, but no.  We can only accept the photo ID cards mentioned above.  A college ID card isn't acceptable.

I don't have an ID card with a photograph.  Will you still let me in?
No.  Everyone, both members and guests, must provide a valid photo ID card to get inside the club.  There are no exceptions to this rule.

What are the rules for 18 - 20 year old guests at CLUB CABARET?
CLUB CABARET is serious when we come to the policies regarding underage (18-20 y/o) guests.  We will not make exceptions to this policy and it will be strictly enforced by our staff no matter what member brought you to the Club.  By violating these rules, you risk being banned from the club and/or causing your friend to loose his/her membership to Club Cabaret.  The rules are simple:

  1. You must surrender your driver's license/ID card at the front desk when you enter.
  2. You must wear a wristband while inside the club and must wear it in plain view (not covered) at all times.  In addition, both of your hands will be "X" in permanent marker.  If your band comes off while you are in the Club, you must report to guest services or our security staff immediately.  (Remember, underage guests who tamper with the "X" or wristbands will be removed from the club and risk being banned temporarily or permanently.)
  3. You may not go outside the club for any reason. (NO EXCEPTIONS - DON'T ASK!!)
  4. If you leave the club for any reason after having your wristband removed, you must pay the full admission price to enter again.
  5. You must not consume any alcohol of any kind or touch a container that contains an alcoholic beverage.

Do you have an ATM on premises at CLUB CABARET?
We do not have an ATM on premises at CLUB CABARET.  No fret, we are less than one block from four (4) of the nation's leading banks (all with ATMs).  Just remember to stop by the ATM prior to coming to the club!

Is CLUB CABARET a safe environment?  Will I feel secure there?
Of course you will!  CLUB CABARET has a caring staff and we also have a security crew that is dedicated to your safety while you're a guest at the club.  In addition to our quality security staff, Club Cabaret utilizes closed circuit television to record our property.  USA Unlimited & Club Cabaret will participate with law enforcement to prosecute illegal behavior on our premises and this video may be used in that prosecution.  If you're bothered by anyone or feel threatened at any time, let a member of the staff know.  CLUB CABARET is a "drama-free" "drug-free" zone, and we plan to keep it that way!

What if I visit your club and find that it isn't for me.  Can I get a refund?
No.  We do not give refunds.  But have no fear, we think you'll love CLUB CABARET!

How can I become a member of CLUB CABARET?
Memberships are $20 per year for those 21 years of age and older.  It entitles you to discounted admissions to the club.  On the night you fill out the application and pay your $20 membership fee, your cover charge is included that night. To get more information, ask someone at the front desk the next time you visit the club.  Click here to visit our online membership center and download your application today!

Can I get my membership card the same night?
No, and that's because North Carolina law requires a mandatory three (3) day period from the time you apply until you receive your membership card.  We'll hold it for you at the front desk until your next visit.  We do not mail membership cards to you.

Does CLUB CABARET have a certain dress code?
While our best advice is to "dress to impress" since you never know who you'll meet, we also want you to be comfortable and relaxed while you're visiting the club.  The standard for our club is clean and casual dress.  City ordinances do prohibit the exposure of the male & female genitals, female breasts and your butt while in public.  CLUB CABARET also prohibits the exposure of these body parts in our club.  Thanks for helping keep the club a clean & safe place!

Can I wear shorts and tee-shirts?  What about flip-flops and sandals?
Shorts are fine.  Tee-shirts are fine too as long as they don't include slogans that could create hostile feelings or cause problems for other customers.  In the rare occurrence that this might occur, you'll be asked to either remove the garment or leave the club.  Flip-flops and sandals are fine to wear, but we don't allow bare feet.

What about ball caps and other kinds of head gear?
Ball caps and hats are permissible.  Head bands are okay too.  We don't allow bandanas (do-rags), scarves, wave caps or any other type of head coverings inside the club.  If you wear a bandana or head wrap, we will kindly ask you to remove it at the front entrance.  This includes both men and women and this rule is strictly enforced.  If you've been asked to remove a head covering and you're caught wearing it again, you'll be asked to leave the club.  No exceptions.

I am a drag performer.  How can I get a booking at CLUB CABARET?
We're always looking for fresh and experienced drag talent.  If you're wanting to perform in our weekly cabaret show, you need to have the experience to do so.  All experienced drag performers should contact Jeff Reeves, the club owner, to see about any possible bookings at CLUB CABARET.  You can send Jeff an email using our contact page.

I'm a male stripper looking to perform in a club.  How can I get booked at CLUB CABARET?
If you are an experienced male stripper/exotic dancer, we're interested in talking to you about performing.  Contact Jeff Reeves, the club owner, who handles the male stripper bookings for the club.  You may use the contact page to send Jeff an email.  We look forward to hearing from you!

Do you have an amateur night for people wanting to become drag performers or male strippers?  I don't have experience, but want to start performing soon.
For those wanting to become drag performers or male strippers, we advise you to enter "JR Stallings's Talent Search" which is held on the fourth Thursday of every month.  Best of luck to you!

I recently saw someone perform at CLUB CABARET and I would like to get in touch with them.  Can you help me out?
Sorry, but if the entertainer isn't listed in our CabCast section, then we can't.  If you see a member in our CabCast section, you can visit his/her profile and contact them through that interface.  Otherwise, we encourage you to keep an eye on our upcoming events section to learn when he/she will be performing at the club again.

Can I rent the club for a private party or event?
If you're interested in renting the club for some type of party, reception or special event, please call Jeff Reeves at 336-667-9690.  He'll be more than happy to discuss your event and what CLUB CABARET can do for you. We can accommodate from 50 to 500 people on certain days and nights.  Prices depend on the accommodations you desire.

How can I find out what's happening every month at CLUB CABARET?
Make sure to keep a check on our website's upcoming events section.  You can also add CLUB CABARET as a friend on MySpace - doing so will enable us to tell you what's happening with blast messages & bulletins.  We also advertise in Q-NOTES every month as well.

My friends and I are planning a trip to CLUB CABARET, but we really don't want to drive back home in the middle of the night.  Are there any reasonably priced hotels or motels close to the club?
Absolutely! Hickory has many fine hotels and motels all throughout the city.  Many of them are reasonably priced and within a short drive (or a taxi ride) from the club.  Club Cabaret recommends Ramada Inn or Days Inn both located on Fairgrove Church Road in Hickory - less than 10 minutes from the Club.  Both of these hotels have proven to be respectful and helpful to all our guests.

Will you call a taxi for me if I have had too much to drink?
Of course we will!  The entire staff wants to make sure that you get to your destination safely.  We believe in the slogan: "Friends Don't Let Friends Drive Drunk!"  If you can't drive and you need a taxi, our staff will gladly call one of the local taxi services for you. This call we make for you is free, however, you are responsible for paying your own taxi fare.

What happened to the older website?  It seems like the site is always changing!
You're right!  We are constantly updating the website to provide you with an online experience that reflects the atmosphere of our club.  Please feel free to drop our webmaster a note and let him know what you think about the changes.  We love to hear what you like and what you don't... that helps us continue to improve the site!

Can I submit pictures that I made at CLUB CABARET so they can appear on your website?
Thanks for the offer, but only the staff of A Creative Concept, Inc make the pictures you see on our website.  Club Cabaret & USA Unlimited have an agreement with A Creative Concept, Inc to provide this service to our patrons.  In addition to the agreement, we are mindful of what photos are used for legal reasons.

My photo appears on your website and I don't remember being asked if I could be filmed?!?
Everyone who enters Club Cabaret acknowledges that he/she may be filmed while on the premises and agree to allow USA Unlimited/Club Cabaret & it's agents use those photos for publicity and marketing purposes.  While we do respect your privacy, you should be aware of this policy.  Ideally, guests not desiring to be filmed should not come to Club Cabaret.  As a courtesy, we will censor or remove any image that contains your face upon written request by email or US mail.
